Last year, Vetle Christiansen, who was in the top 10 at the time but worse than the rest of the Norwegians, was excluded from the team for one stage. After that, he came back and won the Ruhpolding sprint outright.
The competition in the Norwegian team has become so strong, the younger generation is working so hard, that it forces the Norwegian coaches to make difficult decisions, such as excluding the great Tarjei Boe from the sprint and therefore from the pursuit in Annecy.
Martin Uldal, who made a great impression on his debut last week, and the team decided to give him another chance. The same situation with Vebjørn Sorum, who had previously competed on his own quota as the winner of last year's IBU Cup.
But Tarjei Boe will still be coming to Le Grand-Bornand for the mass start, where he is guaranteed a place thanks to his top 25 overall ranking.
If Uldal and Sorum do better than Christiansen, Vetle will have to leave the team. Johannes Dale is completely forgotten for now. And there is also Johan Olaf Botn in reserve.
