Johannes confirms his reputation as a leader at the last official race before the start of the World Cup, the champion is fine!
Already after the first shooting, a pair of leaders was identified, which subsequently competed for gold in the Norwegian Cup. Johannes and Tarjei Boe, as well as Sturla Laegreid, are the only tops who were able to pass the first shooting cleanly, then Laegreid fell off almost immediately, but Tarjei and Johannes stayed together until the first standing, after which Johannes went to one penalty loop, and Tarjei led the race alone.
Tarjei psychologically really needed this victory, but not today. Two misses on the second standing is a death sentence. Ginger-Boe also made one mistake, and although he entered the final lap as a leader, he was only 3 seconds ahead of Tarjei, however, this gap didn't decrease, but even increased closer to the finish.
Second victory for Johannes, second place for Tarjei.
It was an interesting fight for third place. Sturla Laegreid and Vebjorn Sorum approached the last standing together, made a synchronized mistake, and went to their penalty loops. While Johannes Dale and Martin Nevland made 5 out of 5. And on the last lap the four contenders fit in just 3 seconds.
And the most powerful of them was Sorum, who took his second bronze this weekend. Dale didn't reach him for 5 seconds. But Laegreid went completely limp, and at the finish he lost even to Martin Urdal, who was 15 seconds behind at the cutoff of the last lap.
Top 12 places for Norwegians of different varieties and ages. And only starting from 13th place you can see Didier Bionaz, Philipp Nawrath, Roman Rees, Johannes Kühn, and others.
