Last weekend, the Swedish team held test races - sprint and pursuit, in which all biathletes of the main team, reserves, and juniors took part.
In the women's sprint, Elvira Oeberg showed dominance, at least at speed. She made four mistakes in the prone, but didn't lose heart, shot on the standing cleanly, and won the race. She might not've been in much of a hurry, Hanna was 15 seconds behind, and Stina Nilsson was a minute behind.
A day later, in the pursuit, where all the gaps were reduced by 3 times, she still drove away from her closest rival by 2 minutes, who was Johanna Skottheim. Hanna Oeberg was 2:30 behind, and Nilsson was 3 minutes behind.
The men's sprint was won by Oscar Brandt, 5 seconds ahead of Jesper Nelin. Ponsiluoma and Samuelson were 34 seconds behind, but by the start of the pursuit, this gap had been reduced to 11 seconds.
However, everyone made a lot of mistakes, and the pursuit was won by Malte Stefansson, who started fifth. Nelin and Brandt are back on the podium.
