On Wednesday morning, the Slovak Biathlon Federation officially published the list of athletes selected to participate in the opening of the World Cup in Kontiolahti (Finland).
Although we expected Anastasia Kuzmina to be present in the women's team, she will not be there, as she prefers to stay in Norway, then take part in the IBU Cup in Geilo (Norway), and then go to the World Cup in Hochfilzen.
Anastasia Kuzmina literally a week ago surprised the entire biathlon world by taking part in the sprint in Sjusjoen, and taking a high 4th place there. No one expected that Anastasia would seriously decide to return to the sport.
In January of this year, she took part in the European Championships, as it seemed, for the sake of the show, to attract attention to biathlon in Slovakia. But then she also competed in the remaining World Cup races, though without much success.
