Julia Simon started to force things from the first lap. First, she gained the 1st position and shot the fastest, giving herself a small lead of 7 seconds over her closest rival. Only Lou Jeanmonnot was able to join her, but she also fell behind after shooting phenomenally fast in the second prone. Here Simon was already ahead of Jeanmonnot by 8 seconds, and a group of 10 athletes led by Lena Haecki, by 15 seconds or more, which included: Tandrevold, H. Oberg, Knotten, Braisaz, Vittozzi, Arnekleiv, Guigonna, Tomingas and Voigt.
In fact, after the second prone, 16 of the first 17 athletes had no penalties (0+0), and only Justine Braisaz stood out among them with one penalty.
On the standing, Simon did not change her shooting pace, and shot very quickly, and one miss - is collateral damage. Julia, after the penalty loop, let only Lou Jeanmonnot go ahead, however, she caught up with her very quickly. Lisa Vittozzi tried to do the same, but when Simon took the lead, the pace became completely different, and the Italian spent the entire lap alone.
And the rest of the group scattered. Vanessa Voigt was 14 seconds behind and the trio Knotten-Haecki-Braisaz 20 seconds behind. But Justine Braisaz is incredibly fast, and by the time she reached the line she caught up with Lisa Vittozzi.
Simon fired like a machine gun again, this time accurately. Jeanmonnot was slower in this regard, but she also managed to make 5 out of 5. However, Lena Haecki-Gross was on her tail, she and Voigt are the only ones of the pursuers who managed to do without penalty loops. But the German could not compete for the top 3. However, the Swiss woman gave up after a long climb.
Knotten managed to overtake Vittozzi on the last lap and became 5th.
Tandrevold had a failure today - 4 misses and 17th place. But Justine Braisaz, even despite 4 misses and lost of strength on the last lap, is still 9th.
After this race, all four contenders for the Crystal Globe became even closer to each other.
