Despite a pretty good 15th place in the sprint and a rather average 33rd place in the pursuit, Julia Tannheimer returns to the IBU Cup. She, as well as Hannah Köbinger, will be replaced by Selina Grotian (6th and 2nd place in Ridnaun), and Johanna Puff (5th and 1st place in Ridnaun).
The rest of the German's roster is unchanged.
Ocean Michelon has exhausted the trust limit of the French coaches, and was sent back to the IBU Cup. She will be replaced by Gilonne Guigonnat, who just started the season with the World Cup. The Frenchwoman has won 2 of her last 3 IBU races and has fully confirmed that her momentum is back.
Along with Gilonne, her brother, Antonin Guigonnat, returns to replace Valentin Lejeune. The new Frenchman had only one race in the World Cup, but due to two misses he finished only in 61st place. Guigonne's performance also raises questions. In the Ridnaun sprint he was only 28th, but was able to make it to the podium in the mass start.
After a month's absence from the biathlon, Dorothea Wierer returns. She resumed training last week, so it’s hard to say anything about her condition.
Michal Krcmar didn't have the best season, so he is taking a break and will return for the World Championship, which begins on February 7th.
Ida Lien missed the beginning of the season, and only started with the IBU Cup in Shushen. She never won, but took a podium place in 4 out of 8 races.
And finally she was taken to the World Cup.
