Yesterday's winner, Benedikt Doll, didn't go well from the beginning, he missed three times on the first prone, and dropped to 14th place, more than a minute behind the Norwegian trio.
Johannes Boe decided not to put things off for a long time, and already on the first lap he gained 19 seconds from the leading group, and almost simultaneously fell on the mat with them. And then he joined the Lægreid-Strömsheim group.
But with each shooting, there were fewer and fewer of them, like musketeers. Lægreid went into the penalty loop, while Johannes Boe and Strömsheim continued to lead. Count de Ponsiluoma had a pretty good race, and by this time he was already in 3rd place.
Benedikt Doll's problems continued, German missing two more shots.
And after the third shooting, our d'Artagnan Strömsheim was left alone, Johannes Boe missed, and left the penalty loop just before the Laegreid-Ponsiluoma pair, but they also went for a penalty.
Jakob Fak, despite perfect shooting, continued to lose ground, the Slovenian had no pace at all, he was already losing more than a minute to the leader's pace.
At the last shooting, Strömsheim was able to close only 3 out of 5 targets, and he miraculously closed two of them by hitting the clearance. But it doesn’t matter, because Johannes Boe, who was catching up with him, shot no better, and even worse, the leader of the overall standings was able to hit 2 out of 5 targets. Sturla Lægreid coped with the shooting, but despite this, he still went into the last lap 6 seconds behind Endre.
For some reason, Strömsheim waited for Lægreid and let him go ahead, for which he received a scolding from the coach, like: «What are you doing?». But after a couple of hundred meters, he went around him again and pulled away, as if he was playing cat and mouse.
This is Endre’s first victory in his career, now he’s definitely on the team! Johannes Dale, who had been in the shadows the entire race, unexpectedly entered third place.
Johannes, Tarjei in the top 6. Fabien Claude made a stunning breakthrough, he moved from 28th place to 6th.
Botn's debut didn't work out at all, the Norwegian, out of excitement, first started earlier than he must have done it, for which he received a +30 second penalty, and during the race he missed five times. Waiting for him at the last event of WC in March.
