The last phrase of the title applies to fans and coaches of any team, except Norway.
There were 7 Norwegians in the top 10 overall. But the starting quota for the sprint is only 6 athletes.
If no one gets COVID by Friday, then the choice will be between Strömsheim and Soerum. On the one hand, Endre has more points, and it was thanks to his victory in last year’s IBU Cup that Norway received an extra quota. On the other hand, Sorum is a sprint medalist, where he took 3rd place, while Strömsheim can't boast of this yet.
Maybe they should just toss a coin?
In any case, both will be able to compete in Sunday's mass start, since both are clearly in the top 25 overall. But don't be surprised, seven Norwegians in the mass start is nothing new. At the final event of the World Cup, when an extra quota is given to federations whose athletes are in the top 10 in the IBU Cup, as well as the winner of the Junior IBU Cup, the Norwegians, for the last few years, have run the sprint with nine of them. But still no more than seven were selected for the mass start.
