Tero Seppälä looked completely different in Ostersund than last year. He admitted this and has so far refused to participate in competitions, promising to return after Christmass.
«Season start in Östersund was difficult for me. I didn't find speed on the track and feeling is now that I need some good trainings before I am ready to compete at my normal level. I go now back home and skip next races. Hopefully after christmas I can show much better speed»
After a not-very successful, but sufficient, performance at the IBU Cup, 34-year-old ex-Russian Daria Virolainen was transferred to the main team. Daria took 26th and 29th places in two races at the IBU Cup.
The Finns urgently need at least some reinforcement. They took last place in the Östersund women's relay, and in the individual races only Suvi Minkinnen was able to earn points.
The newly «signed» former New Zealander Campbell Wright, is currently not in the best condition. In the individual race, with two penalty minutes, he took 90th place, he suffered some more in the relay, and didn't start in the sprint. Therefore, he will be replaced by Vincent Bonnaci.
