Incredible Oestersud sprint podium: Jeanmonnot - Knotten - Arnekleiv

Predictions about the fight for the Crystal Globe between Simon, Braisaz, Vittozzi, Oberg sisters, and Tandrevold have not yet come true. We have other heroes here.

First, Franziska Preuss, despite two penalties, showed an amazing pace and took the intermediate lead, leaving behind Hanna Oberg and even Lisa Vittozzi, who didn't visit the penalty loops.

Next, the Norwegians, who started three in a row, tried to surpass the German’s result. Tandrevold failed after two penalty loops, but the other two succeeded.

Juni Arnekleiv became the running leader, but after 20 seconds her result was moved to second place, it was Karoline Knotten who gave a phenomenal lap at the pace of Preuss, and took the lead.

It would seem that this was all, but then Lou Jeanmonnot unexpectedly appeared in first position after the final shooting, having only a 9-second gap over the two Norwegians, and she managed to hold it! At the end of last season, the young Frenchwoman took second place twice, and today she has her first personal victory in her career!

Mona Brorsson and Marte Johansson were also close to the podium, leaving the last lap just 12-14 seconds behind the leader. But on the track their pace dropped and Marte finished the race in 7th and Mona in 10th.

On Sunday, Elvira Oberg (+36 seconds), Hanna Oeberg (+42), Julia Simon (+51), Justine Braisaz (+1:19) will try to take revenge and rise higher in the pursuit.
