Strong teams immediately began to push the peloton, and by the first pass of the relay the leading seven teams had formed: Norway and Switzerland were in the lead, and France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy and Sweden were 10 seconds behind them.
But problems with the wind appeared, and gradually the participants from these seven began to fall off. At first, Ponsilouma and Finello lingered on the shooting range until they had used up all their bullets. At the standing the serious test began. Johannes Boe and Philipp Nawrath handled it. But Jacquelin and Giacomel went into penalty loops. Although Michal Karlik got by with 8 rounds, he shot for so long that he came out behind even the Italian who had retracted his penalty. Martin Ponsiluoma, to the delight of the local audience, managed without additional ones, but this didn't bring him closer to the leaders. And what’s unusual is that for a whole lap, he couldn’t even get close to his competitors, who were 10-12 seconds ahead.
The leadership passed to Karoline Knotten, but she is not Johannes Boe, so the gaps didn't increase, and Justin Braisaz managed to win back more than 50 seconds from the Norwegian and finish the leg first. Schneider, Davidova, and Wierer also came close.
Anna Magnussen was unable to pull off the same comeback as Oberg in the mixed singles, and the Swedes remained sixth, more than a minute and a half behind. The rest of the teams had been losing for two minutes or more by this point.
Final leg. Lou Jeanmonnot faces off against Ingrid Tandrevold, and Lisa Vittozzi, Jessica Jislova and Vanessa Voght battle for another spot on the podium. Nothing extraordinary happened on the prone. But the German woman was still a little late, and was 10 seconds behind the Italy-Czechia pair.
Final shooting - Lou Jeanmonnot quickly and clearly dealt with all the targets. And Tandrevold used an additional bullet, as a result, the Norwegian left for the last lap 13 seconds behind, and was no longer able to catch up with her.
Meanwhile, Lisa Vittozzi easily dealt with Jislova, and her third place was no longer in danger. Vanessa Voght finally caught up with Jislova at the end of the race and passed her.
The Swedes are out of work this time.
