The Norwegian men's team has such a strong roster and such strong competition, that last year Endre Strömsheim, even having won four times in the first five races of the IBU Cup, was not able to get into the main roster until the World Championships in February.
Now the situation is similar, but the Norwegians are great. In addition to the rock-solid six of Johannes Boe, Tarjei Boe, Johannes Dale, Vetle Christiansen, Sturla Lægreid and Endre Strømsheim, they also took on Vebjørn Sorum, who was on the podium twice in the sprint and mass start at Sjosjoen. However, why not, Strömsheim has an additional quota for performances, like last year’s IBU Cup winner.
But if everything is smooth in the men's team, then in the women's team after the departure of Marte Roiseland and Tiril Eckhoff, there are more than enough free places. Ingrid Tandrevold and Karoline Knotten are the backbone of this gang. Meet the newcomers:
Juni Arnekleive has already competed in the World Cup. In Sjosjoen she won the mass start.
Marte Johansson is an absolute newcomer to the WC, 5th place in the IBU Cup last season. In Sjosjoen she took 2nd and 4th places.
Frieda Dokken is an absolute newcomer to the WC, she didn’t shine at all even at the IBU Cup. In Sjosjoen 5th and 22nd places.
Marit Skogan is a complete newcomer to KM. She competed in three IBU Cup races in the 2021/22 season, and previously competed in the Junior Cup from 2016 to 2019. In Sjosjoen she took 14th and 8th places. Perhaps the most controversial candidate.
Kalkenberg, Erdal, Kirkede - going to the IBU Cup.
