The Swedes decided to create a commercial biathlon race, similar to the one that takes place annually in Gelsenkirchen at the auf Schalke arena, or some summer competitions like "Blink" or "City Wiesbaden Biathlon"
It will be called «Skidskyttekampen», which translates as «Biathlon Battle».
Date: February 26
Format: Mixed single, 8 pairs of participants.
It will be held between the World Championships and the 7th stage of the World Cup. Two Swedish couples and 6 more foreign couples must take part. 10,000 spectators are expected.
«It’s great to race at the Stockholm stadium», says Hanna Oberg. «For everyone in Stockholm who has never attended a live biathlon competition, this is a unique chance to do so finally.»
