The races in Sjusjoen proved only one thing: the ban on the use of fluoride is a huge mistake. The developments made over the years have turned into nothing, and who has the advantage when you have to start everything from scratch? Of course, the federation that has more opportunities, more servicers, and more experienced staff.
«It's just not fair. It's an advantage for me in a way, and I admit I was thinking about it today,» says Tandrevold and explains that she noticed huge differences between her skis and Vittozzi's skis. «I praised her for third place and said that she was great, because she didn’t have good skis.»
«The race was ruined for them. I felt a little awkward as I slipped past one after another. I even felt like apologizing,» says Johannes Dale.
German Roman Rees is frustrated by his bad skis and doesn't like the fact that the Norwegians were passing by.
«This situation causes sadness and depression. But what I can say about these races is that due to the conditions they were quite slow. Perhaps in other conditions we will be on par with the Norwegians.»
Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn understands well how great their disappointment is: «I feel a little sorry for the Germans who are fighting for victory. It’s quite dangerous to follow them on a descent, as you can crash into them from behind at any moment.»
Are we really going to see a repeat of the previous season, when five Norwegians will take places in the top 6 at once?
