Denise Herrmann won the sprint at her home World Championship, two Swedes on the podium

Today, all three winners managed without penalty loops. Denise Herrmann started earlier than other applicants for a medal, and the same Swedes were guided by her time.

And everything seemed to be going well for Hanna Oeberg, she went for the final lap with a margin of 9 seconds. But already on the track, it became clear that there was no freshness in her movements, at the same time Herrmann was dragging like a locomotive. As a result, Hanna lost all her advantage on the first kilometer, and then she desperately resisted, and tried to add, but at the finish line she still ended up behind the German.

Intermediate third place at this point was occupied by Marte Roeiseland, who, recall, missed the first half of the season. But Linn Persson, who started at the distant 60th number, took the bronze from the Norwegian, due to perfect shooting. By the last lap, she was only 3 seconds ahead of Marte and usually favors the one slightly behind but with more penalties. After all, this suggests that potentially he / she is faster than his opponent. But not today. Linn Persson went all out and took her first individual medal at the World Championships.

Lisa Vittozzi and Marketa Davidova rounded out the top 6.

Who surprised?

Perhaps Polona Klemencic, for whom 8th place is not just the best result in her career, it is a much better result of her previous achievement, 17th place in Hochfilzen this season.

By the way, her teammate Anamarija Lampich is not in shape at all. The Slovenian lost about 40 seconds to the winner of the race in terms of speed, and don't forget about her bad shooting.
