The French trio, which was at the start, underwent almost no changes during the first half of the distance. Fabien Claude did not miss, Jacquelin - 2 misses, and Fillon Maillet managed to miss three times in two shootings, but still took 4th place.
Sturla Laegreid squeezed into this fight, and Fillon Maillet, Rastorugev, Stromsheim, Tarjei Boe, Hartweg, Wright, Emilien Claude, Pidruchnyi, Mandzyn, Sorum, Krcmarc, Samuelsson and Johannes Boe were running in approximately the same group, 50 seconds behind the leader.
But Fabien Claude's fairy tale ended at the first standing - 4 misses for the leader, and he was already far behind. Jacquelin couldn't cope with the shooting either - 3 misses. But Sturla Legreid scored 5 out of 5, and took the lead in the race.
In the group of pursuers, only Rastorguev was able to hit all the targets, which is very unusual for a Latvian. Fillon Maillet remained in 3rd place, with a lag of 30 seconds. And just behind him was a tight group: Wright, Hartweg, Tarjei Boe, Pidruchny and Johannes Boe. But the Norwegians and the American decided not to sit back, and immediately ran together with Maillet in pursuit of Rastorguev, and they caught up with him.
Legreid hit 4 out of 5 with great difficulty, and all the hits were close to the dimensions, and he had something to worry about. Although he remained the leader, only 15 seconds behind him were a pair of Boe brothers.
But the brothers could not catch up with Laegreid, nevertheless, the Norwegian podium. In the top 6 also Quentin Fillon Maillet, Eric Perrot and Dmitry Pidruchnyi.
