The 29-year-old Frenchwoman announced her retirement today.
There was no sign of trouble. Chloe Chevalier started the season with the IBU Cup, and performed well, twice reaching the podium in Idre and Geilo. But this was not enough to make it into the main team. Paula Botet, the overall leader in the IBU Cup, went to conquer Oberhof.
And Chloe Chevalier suddenly decided to retire.
«Towards 2025… and a new life. It’s time for me to turn the page in biathlon», she writes on her Instagram.
«I’ve had my ups and downs, periods of doubt and intense joy, with memorable encounters and unforgettable moments.
I’ve walked part of this path with my older sister, and I’ve made friends for life. I couldn’t have dreamed of anything better.
Thank you to all the people who helped me, accompanied me, followed me, supported me, inspired me... on this journey.»
The Frenchwoman's best result is second place in the sprint at the World Cup in Antholz in 2023.
