Lisa Vittozzi has already missed the whole of November and December, and was supposed to return to biathlon in January.
However, the Italian Ski Federation issued a press release stating that last year's World Cup winner was not on the list of participants. And only a terse explanation:
«Lisa is still suffering from a back injury, and for this reason she was forced to miss another event. Nothing serious, she just lacks physical preparation.
Lisa will have to work to get back to her previous condition», explained Klaus Hölriegl, technical director of the Italian team. «We decided together that it would be better not to start in Oberhof for now, because she is not ready yet. In any case, Lisa is not fighting for the World Cup. Preliminary, she plans to start in Ruhpolding, and then improve her form before the World Championships.»
