The French have a new tactic: shoot accurately, run fast - and that's how they won the relay in Kontiolahti

It's not quite enough to break the record. Emilien Jacquelin closed one of the targets on the last shooting only on the third attempt.

Sturla Laegreid decided to force the issue on the second lap. The Norwegian finished shooting first and immediately picked up the pace, only Fabien Claude followed him. The rest fell behind and formed a huge pursuit group, which ended up falling behind by 11 seconds.

The second shooting was perfect for the Norwegian and the Frenchman, and they both rode off on their final lap. But the pursuit group broke up into two smaller ones.

On a steep climb, Fabien Claude accelerated and broke away from Sturla a little, there were 10 seconds between them change leg.

The most persistent of the pursuers was Sebastian Stalder, he finished the leg with a 26-second lag. The others lost even more. Germany and Sweden were already losing more than 40 seconds.

In the next leg, Quentin Fillon Maillet left no chance for Tarjei Boe. The Frenchman was impeccable, and the Norwegian used only one extra bullet, but France's advantage over Norway remained, and even increased slightly.

But the pursuers dropped a little, but not all of them. There is no longer any talk of Switzerland in 3rd place. The Italian team was brought to 3rd place by Tommaso Giacomel, who turned out to be incredibly fast. On the last lap, he was 10 seconds faster than Quentin. Johannes Kühn, Maxime Germain, and Jesper Nelin were also fast, and finished their part of the race a minute behind the leader.

Eric Perrot, as promised, began to "beat" the Norwegians from the first race. The Frenchman easily dealt with Endre Strømsheim, not allowing the Norwegian to even breathe down his back at the lines.

And on the last lap Endre was so exhausted that even the Swede Ponsiluoma caught up with him, having made up 15 seconds on Perrot and 30 on Strömsheim on the last lap. Sweden is in battle! And France with a one-minute advantage.

The Germans were still 20 seconds behind, and Finland and Ukraine were losing 1:45 to the leader before the last leg.

France didn't lose their one-minute advantage, because Emilien Jacquelin was running. Although he made the fans a little nervous during the last shooting.

And the duel between Johannes Boe and Sebastian Samuelsson turned out to be interesting. First, the Norwegian lingered in the prone position, and let the Swede go. And already on the standing, it was the Swede's turn to use extra rounds, and he entered the final lap with a 17-second gap from Johannes, and was no longer able to catch him.

Germany is 4th, Finland is 5th, and Team USA is 6th, it's high for last two.
