A few days after the loud announcement of Lisa Vittozzi's withdrawal from the first event of the World Cup, it is the turn of her teammate Rebecca Passler to do the same.
This was announced by the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI), three days before the start of the season. The Italian has fallen ill with the flu and is staying at home. A replacement will be found for her after the IBU Cup sprints in Idre.
Rebecca Passler was supposed to compete in the mixed relay and the classic relay, so she will be replaced by Hannah Ouchentaller.
Samuela Comola, Hannah Ouchentaller, Michela Carrara and Dorothea Wierer will be declared for Sunday's women's relay.
