The IBU has finally decided to separate the World Championships from the World Cup, although not completely.
Already last season, no points were awarded for the overall standings for races at the World Championships. This year, both the yellow and red jerseys will be abolished, and instead, there will be an athlete in the gold jersey - last year's winner of this discipline (sprint, individual and mass start).
The age of an athlete who can wear the blue jersey and receive prize money for it has been lowered from 25 to 23 years old. So, Tomasso Giacomel, Didier Bionaz and Olaf Botn will definitely not wear it in the upcoming season.
And of the best young biathletes who will be up to and including 23 years old, the following remain: Eric Perrot, Campbell Wright, Selina Grotian - these are those who made it into the top 30 based on the results of last season.
