Only 9 girls managed to do without misses in the first prone. The leaders were Minkinnen, Charvatova, and Tolmacheva, who still managed to move into first place before the shooting. Vobornikova and Lie were 10 seconds behind.
But Lucie is in a completely "different league", she managed to break away from her closest pursuers by 17 seconds per lap, and although the shooting was unsuccessful for her, she demonstrated her speed.
And the leading pair were Tereza Vobornikova and Lotte Lie. Charvatova, Minkinnen and Jakella were 23 seconds behind. The next pursuers were already 43 seconds behind the leader.
Charvatova decided to do the impossible again - she again was faster then rivals on 20 seconds in one lap , and by the next shooting range she came close to the leading pair. But alas, she missed twice again. Vobornikova also had a penalty loop. But the one who lost the most and immediately said goodbye to her chances for a medal was Belgian Lotte Lie, she had 4 penalty loops.
Suvi Minkinnen became the leader, Vobornikova was already 13 seconds behind, and the group of Jakella - Bendika - Charvatova was 33 seconds behind.
And then Baiba Bendika turned on her speed, reduced the gap by 20 seconds behind the Finn, and even caught up and overtaking Vobornikova. Moreover, the Latvian didn't miss on the last standing, unlike Minkinnen, and went ahead on the final loop. And behind her, Vobornikova and Minkinen were deciding the fate of the silver. However, they could not turn around - her closest rival, Lucie Charvatova, was already more than a minute behind this pair.
It was clear from Bendika's tempo that she would take the gold. But Minkinen still beat Vobornnikova.
