Previously, the Italian newspaper La Stampa published news that a French court had ruled against Julia Simon, finding her guilty and ordering her to pay a fine and damages.
Let us remember that Simon was accused by Justine Braisaz of using her credit card to buy things in online stores. The amount of damage was just over 1000 euros.
But the lawyer of the French biathlete denies this, but also makes it clear that no lawsuits will be filed against the newspaper.
«This information is completely false,» says lawyer Christian Borel
«There was no trial and the presumption of innocence still applies. From a criminal point of view, this is libel, but we will not sue the newspaper, because my client wants to turn the page about this event and not remember it anymore.
My client is calmly awaiting the outcome of this process.»
