The French women's biathlon team has just settled into the Drome in Vasier-en-Vercors. Under the leadership of Cyril Burdet, Jean-Paul Giachino and Patrick Favre, the biathletes are starting their third training course, and it will, of course, be held on roller skis.
But Lou Jeanmonneau is not in the group. She is in another hemisphere, and has already started skiing. In this way, the 25-year-old biathlete will regain her sensations and accumulate hours of training on snow over the course of two weeks. She will then join the French team at the Blink festival in Norway at the end of the month.
«I prefer skiing to rollerblading. This is a unique experience. I was attracted by the culture, landscapes and nature,» Lou admitted after arriving in New Zealand. According to the French newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré, Jeanmonnot didn't take skis on this adventure, much less a rifle, for logistical reasons and to simplify customs. Fischer, her sponsor, provided her with skis on the spot.
By the way, Anastasia Kuzmina used the same practice before the 2018 Olympics. The result is 2 silver and one gold.
