The start was promising - Lisa Vittozzi made two mistakes already in the first prone, and was only in 27th place, but Ingrid Tandrevold was not among the leaders - the Norwegian also made a mistake, and was 30 seconds behind the leading group.
In the second prone, Tandrevold and Vittozzi made no mistakes, but the Norwegian's gap from the coveted first position was still the same - 30 seconds.
At the third shooting, Tandrevold made another mistake, and that was the end of the intrigue. The Norwegian needed only first place, only a victory, but she was 43 seconds behind the leading pair Jeanmonnot - Hettich. Lisa Vittozzi was also wrong, but that doesn't matter.
At the last shooting, Hettich and Jeanmonnot made a mistake, giving chances to Hanna Oberg and Guigonna, but the Swede missed, and the French woman shot for a very long time, and although she was accurate, she left for the last lap 8 seconds behind the leaders.
In the next group of pursuers, everyone made mistakes, except Austrian Anna Gandler, but she couldn't save her 4th place.
Jeanmonnot easily broke away from the German and brought the race to victory. Janina Hettich and Gilonne Guigonnat defended their positions, and for Guigonnat this is the first medal in his career.
Lou Jeanmonnot had a phenomenal end of the season, especially on the North American stages. Here are the results of her last five races: 3, 1, 2, 2 and today's victory. Quite deservedly, and very unexpectedly, she pushed Ingrid Tandrevold out of second place.
Lisa Vittozzi finished only 21st, and Ingrid Tandrevold herself removed her skis.
