The last time the Norwegians were not on the podium was most likely in the 2021/2022 season. This day could have come today, but alas, Quentin Fillon Maillet let us down. But everything worked out: Johannes Boe - 4 misses, Tarjei Boe - 2.
Quentin Fillon Maillet didn't run the penalty loop (facepalm), and two minutes were added to him, although if he ran it, he could well have counted on a medal, or even a victory.
But nothing, the other two Frenchmen didn't disappoint. Eric Perrot didn't have to take any penalties, and Emilien Jacquelin was so fast that he almost beat his young teammate, even with two penalties on his side. Eh, Quentin, there could have been a French podium! By the way, this is the Frenchman’s first victory in his career!
Johan Olaf Botn was one of the last to start, and the start was not bad, but he was not looking for a medal, the Norwegian was 30 seconds behind after the prone, but the second shooting was perfect, and the gap from first place was already 11 seconds. He managed to keep the pace of the French, and he was able to take his first medal at the World Cup.
After the second shooting, Seba Samuelsson was in the lead, but the Swede seriously lost momentum during the last lap and dropped to 5th place. Things were even worse for Timofey Lapshin from Korea. He was only 2 seconds behind Eric Perrot, after the second shooting, but at the finish he was only 11th, with a lag of 41 seconds.
The new American Campbell Wright was just a little short, we thought that he would start surprising from the next season, but he almost won now. He was prevented by only 1 miss, and he was 6th.
