A total of 16 teams started in the women's relay. At the first leg, nothing special happened. The first top ten was placed in 30 seconds, and the leaders were the teams of Norway, Austria and Germany. Gilonne Guigonna was only 14 seconds behind. And given the potential of French power, this is a slight lag.
In the second leg, Justine Breza fought against Lien, Grotian, Brorsson and Rothschopf. It seemed that the Frenchwoman would overtake them, and not even break a sweat, but no. Justine earned a penalty and fell even further behind. And the leaders to hand over the leg were the representatives of Norway and Germany - Ida Lien and Selina Grotian. Mona Brorsson lost 28 seconds, Teresa Vobornikova - 42, and Braisaz - 50.
At the next leg, Germany and Norway retained their leadership, Marketa Davidova got closer to the leaders, the Czechia was already losing only 24 seconds, and Hanna Oberg was unable to improve Sweden's position and was losing 34 seconds. The Austrian Juppe lost about a minute to the Swede, and it became clear that the fight for medals would be between the top four.
Jeanne Richard drove France even deeper into a hole - another penalty loop, today is not their day.
Ingrid Tandrevold was finally able to throw her pursuer off her tail, the Germans entered 20-year-old debutant Julia Kink into the final part of the race. She shot very slowly in the prone, but was not inferior to the Norwegian in speed. And she coped with the task, while Charvatova made penalty loops, and Elvira Oberg aimed every shot, the young German did not disappoint - just one extra round, and second place for Germany.
Oberg carried Sweden to bronze without any problems.
