The International Biathlon Union’s Executive Board convened this past weekend in Lausanne for its 141st meeting. Among the many decisions, the Executive Board agreed to launch governance reforms, intensify anti-doping educational efforts, and promote female leadership within its Member Federations.
The Executive Board touched the situation of the Russian Biathlon Union and discussed criteria which need to be satisfied in order to consider lifting the RBU’s provisional membership status in the future. These criteria and next steps will be discussed with the RBU leadership in Moscow in mid-November.

Regarding educational measures in the fight against doping, it was decided that all athletes participating in the 2019 IBU Youth/ Junior World Championships have to show a completion certificate of the Anti-Doping e-Learning platform (ADeL) course offered by WADA or a similar platform of national anti-doping agencies in order to register for the event.
