Since 2012, Martin Fourcade has come every year to complete his training in Sjusjoen, Norway. Just under a month before the opening of the World Cup in Pokljuka, Slovenia, the seven-time World Cup champion and five-time Olympic champion returns to this autumn and the beginning of winter.
Is the camp in Sjusjoen an important moment in the preparation to season?
This is the sixth time I've come here, it's never an training like the others, it has a special flavor with a return to the snow. I really appreciate this first event of november, as when it was in Beitostolen or Idre.
The weather is tricky now, and the conditions are not optimal...
It's all part of the game. When we are looking for snow in early november, we have chances to have good conditions, or autumn weather. We have to adapt to any conditions.
What state are you now?
I was a bit apprehensive about this in September and October, we had talked about it with Vincent (Vittoz). But in general, I'm satisfied work that I've done.
Is it right, You'll not race before the opening of the World Cup?
For me it will be the same process, but we will race just with team. No bibs, no rivals.
